On February 24 2021 Mozaika kicked-off an R&D project with the European Space Agency for building an Information System for Sediment Deposition Monitoring. We will employ a series of AI methods applied on satellite data and in-situ measurements to enable coping with inconsistent data input, and derive predictions of suspended sediment deposition in riverbeds and dams and integrate it in a linked data information infrastructure that mixes a variety of data sources and domain knowledge and allows flexible interactivity with data and visualizations, including in their geo-spatial dimensions. We will partner with the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology, the Agency for Moniroting and Maintenance of the Danube river, Dams and Cascades Enterprise from National Electric Company as data and use case validators, with ESRI Bulgaria as geospatial data visualization providers, and with SISTEMA GmbH as satellite data providers. Our local data sources will be the Danube river and Cascade Arda. The project is also endorsed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Waters. Stay tuned.
