11 teams in Sofia competed with very interesting and hands-on solutions, utilizing European space data from Copernicus , Galileo and EGNOS, for 3 challenges: access to water, water quality and disasters. The winner of the Sofia edition was ranked at the 4th position in the European tour at the Demo Day and Awards Ceremony on April 29, 2026. .
We had a very competent jury of 5 members from Academia and Industry, covering the water and the space domains. A selection of 12 mentors took care of the teams during the condensed week end effort.
The event was supported by several Bulgarian universities, space and water sector corporate representatives, NGOs. We also received institutional support from the Ministry of Innovation and Growth and from Sofia Municipality.
The overall outcome of the event was that everyone was asking when will be the next competition.
