November 13 2019 is The World GIS day. ESRI Bulgaria and 47 other organizations organize an annual conference on this occasion. This 21st annual eddition was held at Hotel Balkan in Sofia with officials from all Bulgarian ministries, the European Commission, the American Embasssy, Municipalities, representatives of the public sector, academia and business. The conference is followed by an award ceremony – acknowledging outstanding achievement in the application of GIS technologies in several categories: Public Sector, Municipalities, Private Sector, Academia. A committee of the organizers has decided to award Mozaika for the innovative approach to using GIS technologies integrating them with ontologies in the ESA project ISME-HYDRO-BG for water resources management and dam monitoring, and for fostering the adoption of GIS technologies in the humanities by developing an interactive map of Bulgarian lexical dialects in collaboration with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
